Are 17" wheels with 45 tires the same diameter or size to a 15" wheel with 65 tires?

If not, what is the closest size to the stock wheel? (205/65 R15)

I want 17 or 18 inch, but I want the same diameter as my stock wheels and tires. Are 17" wheels with 45 tires the same diameter or size to a 15" wheel with 65 tires?
The "series" number is the aspect ratio in relation to the width, i.e., a 205/65 has a sidewall height of 65% of the width, 205 x .65 = 133.25 mm, or 5.25". Double the sidewall dimesion and add in the rim diameter. This gives you a 25.5" overall diameter for you stock combo. If you want to go with a 45 aspect ratio on a 17" wheel, a 235/45/17 would be 25.32", and a 245/45/17 would be 25.68". Both should be close enough to not confuse the wheel speed sensors. If you want to stay closer to the stock width, the best option would be a 215/50/17. That would be 25.47", almost identical diameter to your stock wheel and tire.
