Do all tires and wheels fit all makes of cars?

I have a 99 f150 with a lift big enough to fit 35inch tires, and i was wondering if it really matters what size tires(height, width, diameter) and wheels i get. I dont want to drop 2000 bucks on tires and wheels that dont fit. Help?Do all tires and wheels fit all makes of cars?
definitely not. cars have different lugs and different sizes and widths. you should return what you bought and do some research on what will fit.Do all tires and wheels fit all makes of cars?
Cars have unique bolt patterns so you need a wheel that lines up in that way. Also you need to be certain the wheel well is large enough, otherwise the tires may rub when you turn. Most of the people working at a store dealing in tires and wheels can help you find the right size and bolt pattern for your car. Even if you are purchasing from an individual who is simply reselling there own wheels I would go to a retail store/ tire dealer to get the info you need. Usually the people working in these places are very helpful even if you are just browsing and looking around to get info. Good luck!
