I have a 2004 BMW 325i wagon with the sports package. The low profile tires keep blowing, so I'm thinking of swapping them out for regular wheels and tires. Are the outer diameters of the two tires the same? Or are there other suspension parts I'll have to swap out as well?|||The real question here is why are the tires blowing?
Are they rubbing something?
Have you been running objects or curbs over?
Have you been going too fast over very uneven pavement?
Do you keep getting road debris punctures?
Do you have angry neighbors?
Do you ride your brakes(can over-heat the inside of the rim)?
Are the tires properly inflated?
Do you have a damaged rim?
If you haven't isolated the cause of your blow-outs then you will likely continue to have problems even with regular tires.
Also, to not have low profile tires you will need smaller rims to maintain the proper outer diameter. If you just put on tires with a taller side wall you will get error in the speedometer and Odometer.
As stated above, tirerack.com is your friend.|||Go to www.tirerack.com, and it will give you tire/wheel packages that will work for your vehicle.
The circumferance of the wheel/tire must always be the same as factory to keep your speedometer accurate. As long as you get smaller wheels with larger height tires, you will fine.|||Tire blowouts have nothing to do with the sports package tires. With nails, any tire will be vulnerable. Even if you have runflats.
If you live in an area that is particularly vulnerable to nails, I recommend using tirerack, discount tire direct's, Costco's or Sam's Club's road hazard protection warranty. That way, you can get free tires whenever you get a blowout or nail.
You can also try to pre-treat your tires with something called the tire slime - which automatically seals a nail puncture. I haven't tried this product personally, but I see it in the stores. It's green colored. Make sure you check with the guys providing the road hazard warranty before using this product though.
Nothing can stop you from getting your tires slashed or stabbed unless you confront whoever it is who has been doing it. For that, I recommend this camera which detects motion and starts recording automatically... and sends you a text message notification. Works through your home wifi network.
http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0%26amp;pid鈥?/a>|||get the high performance tire with a bigger side wall profile.
your sport package does not have anything to do with the tires blowing but i don't know what your riding on.
the type of tires DO have effects . Change Brands try Yokohama's or toyo
or BF Goodrich make sure that you don't have any damage to any of the wheels that are on the car. American tire co will check for free and Big O will too.|||You are correct in that they are more vulnerable. Check out the same model without sport wheels, typically 1" to 2" smaller wheel. The dimensions of the tire will also change. That combination will work as a replacement.|||I feel that your road are not good.not the tires.
