Go to www.tirerack.com and see what they have to offer. I am certain their site will limit your choices to only sizes that will fit your "bird".|||better yet check out showmewheels.info

|||If you want to put wheels on your car that are of the correct look.Cragar SS, American Racing, etc. Go to Jegs.com or Summitracing .com. You can talk to the experts there .They can get you the right size wheel and tire combo to fit. I had a 69 Camaro and was able to put 15X8 wheels in the back with 275-60-15 tires with no problems. You should be able to do the same.|||The tire shop can try a couple of tires to see which is the biggest tire you can put on without rubbing fenders|||I would definetly suggest Torque Thruster II's or TT II's made by American racing. They look amazing. Check out Tomzwheels.com. They should be on there or on ebaymotors. You can find these wheels in a lot of places. I think you should be able fit 16's on your car. But I would seriously check out ls1tech.com and do a search or ask around there. There are a crap load of people on that site that are more enthusastic about their cars than anyone, anywhere and they own cars just like yours and are more than willing to help. I don't know much about the older firebirds, I own a 2000 Camaro. So I'm not sure on sizes, but definetely get TT II's!
So register on ls1tech.com and become friends withs some great car enthusiasts with lots of info. to share.|||Whilst fancy rims look good,As you already mentioned they can produce problems. If they rub any part of the body they are not safe. Also tyres for these after market wheels are always more expensive. So think long and hard before parting with your money!.
