Why do some people put tires, wheels and other junk on top of their mobile homes?

I saw a house today with so many tires on top I couldn't see the roof underneath. Are they going to melt and cover it in tire rubber? Why do some people put tires, wheels and other junk on top of their mobile homes?
its not to hold the roof down...its to add weight to eliminate the noise from winds...
Some may do it believing that it helps to insulate their roof. Weather it does is up for debate, but this belief may be the reason. Some may do it to hold down poor workmanship on roof repairs. Some might do it out of simple personal choice in decoration. Remember what is ugly to you, may be beautiful to another. Hard to imagine? maybe so... but take opera...some love it, some hate it.Why do some people put tires, wheels and other junk on top of their mobile homes?
LOL! I can't say I have the answer for this one... Although I'd love a picture of it.

Perhaps its so the "ring" of the tire catches the water? Perhaps they have a leaky roof?
Good question! But if it is to help from a tornado, how is a tire going to divert the winds? or even hold a house down? hmmmmmmWhy do some people put tires, wheels and other junk on top of their mobile homes?
supposedly, some people do it to keep their roof stable. in areas that get high winds, crappy old mobile homes could possibly lose their roofs.
So tornadoes will not blow their mobile homes away.
To keep them from blowing away when the inevitable tornado blows through.
guess to hold the roof down is what i was told
To weigh it down in high winds :)
too lazy to clean up and take the rubbish away maybe!
some people have bad taste
