Will wider wheels make the tires stick out further or only the offset? If I buy wider wheels for my truck will the tires stick out further?
yes, they will also stick in further, and probably rub on suspension components.
I guess most people smart enough to about back spacing on a wheel
Back spacing is the measurement from center of wheel (back side of mounting portion) to the outter lip of wheel
If say your stock back spacing is 3" and you have a 7" wide wheel.
You install a 8" wheel with same 3" back spacing then yes the wheel/tire will stick out 1" fruther.
2" back spacing and wheel sticks out 2" now.
4" back spacing on the 8" wheel and your back like stock was.
5" back spacing and you draw the wheel/tire 1" up under the truckIf I buy wider wheels for my truck will the tires stick out further?
Of course they will, the sidewall of the tire still has to seal to the bead, the difference between the width of the tire and the width of the rim should not be more than 2 inches, otherwise you will have a problem sealing them
This could go either way depending on how the rim is offset from the center of the wheel. Most likely they will stick out further. It's possible to buy wider wheels that will not stick out as far as the stock wheels. If I buy wider wheels for my truck will the tires stick out further?
yep they sure will because they are wider.
